Happy third birthday to Blog4Writers. Birthdays are fun, but they’re also a time for evaluation and maybe even some nostalgia. Three years ago, in February of 2010, this blog, Blog4Writers was “born” when I started posting once a week. I combined a blog on marketing with a blog on technology for writers, so the archives contain posts dated prior to the official start date. My original intent was for this blog to be a source of information for beginning and intermediate writers. At this three-year milestone, please help me evaluate whether I’ve accomplished my mission.
Blog4Writers Mission Statement: Blog4Writers exists to provide online resources for the writer aspiring to publication as well as published writers. Subject matter will include the following categories: computers, websites and blogs, marketing, writing resources, and inspiration.
New Tag-line. Late in 2011, I created a new tag-line for Blog4Writers: Information and Inspiration on Writing, Blogging, & Marketing. Many of you have told me that Blog4Writers is indeed a source of inspiration, even hope, for you as you work toward getting your writing published. Those comments are an encouragement to me as I begin the third year.
Use Blog4Writers as a Resource. Between regular posts, you can visit Blog4Writers to access resource lists and posts archived by category and date. Browse the category menu at the top of the page, or see how the site is organized by visiting the site map page. For more detail on how to take advantage of the site, see my previous post, What’s in It for You?
It’s about you. The reader is what any blog should be about. To be sure I’m on the right track, please consider answering these questions.
